The PlayStation 4 launches in certain European territories at midnight on November 29, and Sony has decided to disable some of the PlayStation Network features in order to make sure that the online service will handle the strain of new players.

The PS4 came out in North America on November 15 and immediately the PlayStation Network online service wasn't able to handle the influx of new users, prompting several errors and lengthy loading times.

For the console's release in Europe, Sony has decided to play it safe and confirmed on the PS blog that a few services would be unavailable in the following days, so that the PSN stays as error-free as possible.

Check out the list of disabled services below.

What’s New – discover and engage with all of your friends’ PS4 related activity

Content Information Screen – see friends’ activity and information specific to the title you are looking at

These features will be turned back on when the strain on the PSN is alleviated, and Sony emphasized that the rest of the service would remain operational.
