The Last Guardian, the long awaited yet still mysterious game coming from Sony's Team Ico won't be present at this year's Tokyo Games Show, as the company's worldwide studios boss, Shuhei Yoshida, confirms that the game still isn't in a state where it's ready for public presentation.

The Last Guardian was revealed to the world many years ago as an ambitious PS3 project coming from Team Ico, the same internal Sony studio that brought forth the stunning Shadow of the Colossus and Ico for the PS2 console.

Unfortunately, the game was never revealed since the initial presentation, leading many to speculate about its cancelation.

However, time and time again, Sony denied any rumors about canceling The Last Guardian, but declined to say when the title might be re-revealed to the world.

Now, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has once again shattered the hopes of fans, denying that The Last Guardian will be present at the Tokyo Games Show 2014 event.

According to the executive, who talked with Eurogamer, the game isn't ready to be re-revealed to the world.

"I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it to be in a state where we are happy that this is the game. We have a certain time frame in our mind, and the team is making great progress, but still not to the point that we can say that, here you go."

Yoshida mentioned that the lengthy development time is due to various re-engineering that needed to be done but he's not yet ready to offer more details.
