The PS4 was finally released today, November 29, in certain European countries and PAL regions, and Sony posted a special message from the President and CEO of its European division, Jim Ryan, in which he thanks all of the early adopters for their loyalty.

The PS4 came out in North America earlier this month, on November 15, and quickly managed to sell over 1 million units in just 24 hours throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Today, November 29, the PS4 goes on sale across Europe and other PAL regions like Australia or New Zealand.

In order to thank fans for their loyalty, Sony Europe's Jim Ryan posted a special message on the PS blog.

"Today, in 20 countries across Europe and the wider PAL region, PlayStation 4 goes on sale. It’s a huge day for everyone here at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and, more importantly, it’s a huge day for gamers," he said.

"After years of hard work from our brilliant hardware teams, the most powerful gaming console ever created is now in your hands and you can finally experience our vision for the next-generation of gaming."

Ryan promised that PS4 owners would enjoy all sorts of great experiences on the next-gen console, both in terms of gaming, where Sony's focus is always present, but also in terms of entertainment, thanks to a wide array of apps and services.

"Whether you made it out last night to celebrate with us at one of our many launch events across the region, or are patiently awaiting the knock of a delivery man this morning, we’d like to thank you for choosing PlayStation."

"PS4 exists for you; you’re the reason why we continue to push at the boundaries of play, crafting experiences you’ll not see anywhere else. Please enjoy your new console – we can’t wait to hear how you, the players, get on."

The PS4 will continue its global rollout in the next few months, hitting many other territories in December, January, and February.
