It’s a reference to Apple’s iPhone 6 tagline “bigger than bigger”

Microsoft, BlackBerry and HTC are just some of the companies that recently took the opportunity to troll Apple’s iPhone 6 launch event that happened yesterday.

Obviously, Sony couldn’t miss the party and joined the club of those who laughed at some of the features Apple announced during the iPhone 6 event.

Even though it usually takes about 30 minutes until Apple announces a new iPhone during its keynotes, this time, Tim Cook introduced the iPhone 6 after about 20 minutes on stage.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were announced with the “bigger than bigger” tagline, which we will probably see pretty often from now on. “Bigger than bigger” sounds like a bold statement, which is why it will probably be at the forefront of Apple’s marketing campaign for iPhone 6.

Unless the Cupertino-based company rethinks its strategy following the funny quotes the competition has already come up with. We’re just kidding, that will never happen of course.

Even if Sony Mobile thinks that its Xperia smartphones are “better than bigger,” Apple’s campaign is likely to focus on those who already own older iPhone models and consider switching to the new one.

Trolling is fun when smartly done

But that’s not the only way Sony took a jab at Apple yesterday. The company also tweeted a nice picture of a 48-hour countdown, which is supposed to be the amount of time one would need to wait until the next recharge of their Xperia Z3 battery.

Sony Xperia Z3 is equipped with a 3100 mAh battery, but it sports a smaller 5.2-inch display in comparison with iPhone 6 Plus’ 5.5-inch display and 2915 mAh battery.

To make things even funnier, Sony took it even further and informed those “with battery issues during the live stream” that they had missed the big news.

The big news is the fact that the company’s flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3 is waterproof, it offers 2-day battery life and packs an impressive 20.7-megapixel photo snapper.

Well, we’re not sure how many people had battery issues during Apple's live stream, but we know for sure we didn’t, given the fact that the stream went offline several minutes after the event kicked off and came back online much later.

This type of “trolling” has been going on for quite a few years now and it will continue for years to come, as long as there is an audience for that. So there you have it, Apple fans. Are you going to switch to Xperia Z3 now that you know it offers 2 days of use?
