Good news for Sony Smartwatch fans and owners alike, as the company has issued an update for the wearable, the biggest one yet since the device was launched back in October 2014.

The update can be downloaded from Google Play right this moment and comes equipped with bug fixes and new improvements.

Right off the bat, you’re probably bound to notice the new watch face customization capabilities. Users are now invited to add date, weather, calendar, Bluetooth, notifications, battery indication, alarm and much more on the watch’s face.

Sony also says users should watch out for widgets and watch faces which are bound to show up at some point due to the fact the platform is open to third-party developers.

Another new addition to the Smartwatch 2 comes in the form of wallpapers. Sony is throwing in a choice of six models. It might not sound like much, but more will probably be added with upcoming updates. Nevertheless, having the ability to replace the boring black back-drop is still something.

Furthermore, the company has also thrown in a native calculator, so you can do a quick calculation right from your wrist.

Moving on, Sony has taken the opportunity to improve the Gmail and Facebook apps, after receiving feedback from users. The tweaks include synchronization between phone and watch for Gmail, while for Facebook scrolling through posts has become more fluid.

Moving on, the notification drawer has also been tweaked a little, so now users can scroll through their weekly calendar appointments and also mark events as read directly from the smartwatch.

Sony also notes there are currently almost 400 apps especially made for the SmartWatch 2, drawing attention the ecosystem is actively growing. The list includes the world’s first wearable boarding pass.

The app was developed with Spanish airline Vueling and allows the Smartwatch to display flight info and the boarding pass bardcode.

On top of the new soft update, Sony has launched two new special edition models, the Business and Brazil version.

The new arrivals differentiate themselves by virtue of bringing a new strap to the table. One is made of metal, while the other is made of a fabric depicting the Brazilian flag’s color.

The latter smartwatch has been named the “official accessory of the 2014 FIFA World Cup” so it should appeal to sports fans all over the world. However, the first model is targeted at business professionals on the lookout for classy looking devices.
