Video game publisher Sony has announced that the Media Molecule create platformer Little Big Planet has managed to attract no less than 6 million user-created levels and original video games, all of which can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network service for the PS3.

Little Big Planet was originally launched in 2008 and since then has emphasized the Create, Play and Share concepts, which encouraged players to experience the levels from the developers and then make their own and then offer them to the community.

The PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony is also set to get a version of Little Big Planet when it launches on February 22.

The handheld game was not created by Media Molecule, who is apparently working on a whole new intellectual property, but the Share idea will be implemented, allowing gamers to create their own levels, with a limited complexity level, which can then be uploaded to the PSN.
