Shortly after updating its Xperia T and Xperia TX with new features and improvements, Sony Mobile is now offering a firmware update for Xperia ion. Although we don’t have any info on the changes included in this update, it appears that this is still a variation of the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
firmware.
There’s a high chance that the update brings some of the new features added to the Xperia T and TX smartphones several days ago, including Screen Mirroring, extended standby mode and various improvements to Sony apps.
Blog of Mobile reports that, for the time being, firmware version 6.1.E.2.68 is only available in China and Hong Kong, for LTE SKU (LT28i) Xperia ion models.
Those who own HSPA+ versions of Xperia ion will have to wait a bit longer to grab the update.
