Sony has just revealed its two new tablet devices, in the form of the S1 and S2, which not only allows users access to all sorts of multimedia entertainment, but also to a "PlayStation-certified" experience, which will no doubt make them very attractive to regular gamers.

Even if it's currently experiencing some serious problems with the PlayStation Network, as the online service has been completely offline for almost six days now, Sony is making time to launch all-new devices.

Confirming rumors from earlier this year, Sony has revealed not one but two new tablet devices, in the form of the S1 and S2, according to Kotaku.

The S1 is similar to the devices currently on the market, including Apple's iPad or Motorola's XOOM device, but does have a special feature in the form of a special bulge on the back.

This will allow its users to better interact with its 9-inch screen when placed on a flat surface like a table.

The S2 tablet, however, has more in common with a Nintendo DS or 3DS than regular tablets, thanks to its dual-screen clamshell design.

The Sony S2 has two screens, measuring 5.5 inches, both with 1024x480 touch-sensitive displays.

While Sony is throwing lots of features onto both tablets, including the new Android 3.0 mobile operating system, access to online music and e-book stores, wireless connectivity, as well as 3G or 4G support, gaming will also be a part of their feature set.

Just like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play mobile phone, the Sony S1 and S2 tablets will be "PlayStation-certified," meaning they'll play both PlayStation 1 games, as well as titles made specifically for the mobile platforms and published by Sony onto the PlayStation Suite online store.

The S2 will be even more geared toward mobile gaming, as the bottom screen can emulate the controls, while the top one will display the action of the game.
