Video game hardware maker Sony has revealed that it will launch a new version of its PlayStation 3 home console, which is even slimmer than the Slim model that’s already on sale. This will launch in two different versions during the fall.

The new model is said to be 25 percent smaller than the current PlayStation 3 Slim and 50% smaller than the original version of the home console.

The first version to launch will be one which includes a 250 GB hard drive and will be offered on September 25 for a price of 269 dollars or Euro.

Those who are willing to wait until October 30 will be able to get a model which includes 500 GB of hard drive space for the price of 299 dollars or Euro.

Sony will also launch a bundle that includes the 250 GB version of the even slimmer PlayStation 3, which will come complete with the Game of the Year Edition of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and a voucher for 30 dollars for the upcoming Dust 514.

Sony has also announced that it will launch the PlayStation Mobile service via the PS Store on October 3, with support coming from Fujitsu and Sharp, who are now part of the PlayStation Certified licensing program.

The PlayStation Plus service, which is at the moment only offered on the PlayStation 3, will also be offered on the Vita handheld starting with November.

It will allow players to download a number of free games during each month and a discount on games that are offered on the PlayStation Store.

The Vita-only features include automatic game updates, a new Trophy synchronization service and 1 GB of space to store save games online.

Sony is also pushing out two new versions of the Vita, colored Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue.

The older PSP is also set to get a price cut in Japan.
