
Sony Europe's Recording Media & Energy (RME) division has just launched its smallest class USB drive yet - the Micro Vault Tiny- part of the Micro Vault series line-up.
The 'Tiny' USB drive has been developed for traveling as it delivers a storage capacity ranging from 256MB to 2GB. Furthermore, the Tiny USB is only 2.4mm 'big' and weighs just 1.5g, as it can be plugged directly into a USB compatible interface and is capable of storing a wide range of file formats, from word documents to photos, music files and videos.
Micro Vault Tiny is capable of storing over 500 MP3 songs or high definition images and around five hours of MPEG4 videos on a 2GB capacity device. Moreover, the preloaded Virtual Expander software enables the USB drive to store three times the native data volume, as it compresses and decompresses the read and write information on the device.
The Micro Vault Tiny supports USB 2.0 compatible host interfaces and enables high transfer speeds when storing data applications, documents and high quality pictures, and because of the Flash Memory, the Micro Vault has low power consumption and it guarantees, according to the manufacturer, for data durability and reliability.
Micro Vault comes in different pastel or electric colors for an easier identification of the storage capacities and for a little bit of fun. Also, the USB drives come with a special colorful rubber carrying case, equipped with a clip and strap for safe transport.
