Video game publisher and hardware creator Sony has launched an English version of the manual for the PlayStation Vita online, allowing all those who speak the language to take a closer look at how the features of the new device will work.

The move is somewhat surprising because the device is only set to launch on Western markets, where most players speak English, in late February 22.

At the moment the Vita is only available on the Japanese market, where Sony has shipped more than 700,000 units in order to cover the demand for the first weekend and the following week.

Those who use the link to the English online manual can learn the basics about the Vita and how It will be linked to the PlayStation Network.

They can also get more information on new services like Party, LiveArea, Group Messaging and Content Manager.

The Vita is not region locked and any Western gamer can import a device from Japan.
