Truthfully, it's no longer surprising to learn that a new display has appeared, and that said display uses LED backlighting.

In this case, Sony is the one making the revelation, and the Chinese market is where sales will happen.

The display is a 65-inch LCD TV called S990A, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD).

The screen is actually curved, like that of the 55-inch LG model I wrote about here.

The Sony S990A also used FPR 3D technology. Content support is broad because of that.

What's more, the wide color gamut (WCG) display technology can be put through its paces not just by TV broadcasts, but by smart TV features too.

An in-house made X-Reality Pro image-processing chip is included to handle everything.

Sadly, the price is unknown. The same goes for the 55-inch version of the newcomer.
