The Sony RX2 has been rumored to be announced this summer and when it does, it will come equipped with a 35mm f/1.8 lens. But that’s not all we’re going to see.

But recent information reported by SonyAlphaRumors indicates the RX2 might bring a pretty innovative feature when it arrives. According to them, the new camera is going to arrive bundled with a curved image sensor.

A source claims the Sony RX2 compact camera with a full frame sensor will be gracing the market as soon as this summer.

The curved image sensor scenario is not far-fetched as Sony has already patented the sensor technology, which is said to be great on paper.

Photography experts say cameras using such a sensor will be able to see an impressive performance increase, while the sensitivity at the edge of the sensor will be doubled. Hence, shooting photographs in low-light environments shouldn't pose a problem.

The Sony RX2 will come with a fixed lens, like we see in most compact cameras out there. Furthermore, the lens should sport a fixed focal length of 35mm, like with the RX1 and RX1R. However, the camera will boast maximum aperture set for f/1.8.

Sony has also patented the 35mm f/1.8 lens for curved full-frame image sensor, so we should be able to see that too this summer.
