Sony is reportedly holding a major event next week

Earlier today I told you the Sony A77II has been rumored to arrive on May 1 alongside some unexpected surprises.

Well, now we’re getting the first indications of what the surprise might actually consist of. According to a leaked manual, there's the possibility that Sony RX100M3 might be on the way, (via Digicameinfo).

If you compare the images showed at the bottom, it is pretty obvious the lens size is different, so that might mean we’re going to be seeing a few design changes and maybe the already patented 20-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens.

To back up this theory comes the current Sony RX100II camera, which has been made available at a discounted price (with $100 / €72 off) in the US on eBay.

So one of the surprises to look forward next week might be the new Sony RX100M3, but according to sources familiar with the matter, other surprises are coming too.

Sadly, we don’t have any specifications to share, but more info will probably be made available. The camera should arrive alongside the A77II, which could come boasting an AF system faster than the A6000 (which is considered to be the fastest in the world at this point). Stayed tuned, as we find out more.
