Sony is planning to keep us really busy in the future and it has big plans for its PlayStation 3 console which will become a best seller - that's what the company's representatives hope. "2008 is the Year of the PS3," said Jack Tretton, SCEA's president. However, we're not planning to debate on this situation right now since they have announced a long list of games coming to the PS3 later this year and we must admit we're excited.

So, as I've said, Sony presented a list of games to be experienced on the PS3 and showed off exclusive gameplay footage. Among the titles announced there was, of course, one of this year's headliners, Siren: Blood Curse (you can check our article on it here) which seems to be indeed a great game able to drive the console's sales forward.

The highly appreciated series Ratchet & Clank will come back to the PSN via Insomniac Games with a Quest for Booty. Other exclusive games for the PlayStation Network are expected: Q Games' Pixeljunk Eden, independent and incredible project Flower and some strange new little games such as Fat Princess and Crash Commando.

Also, one of the biggest surprises at this year's E3 was the announcement and presentation of God of War 3, a PlayStation 3 exclusive we talked more about here - it's a must read and definitely a title that will create some big hype around it. Other games announced by the company were: LittleBigPlanet (the ultimate customizable game), Killzone (a first person shooter that looks better than you have expected) and Heavy Rain. BUZZ!, inFamous and MAG were also announced by Sony.

"The PlayStation family of products is unsurpassed in 2008 with a lineup of exclusive content for all platforms developed by the best and brightest development teams in the world," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president of product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We are dedicated to driving the industry forward leveraging our technology and development resources to offer consumers a wide variety of innovative titles, from casual games to hardcore games."

Also, starting the 28th of July 2008, SCEA will introduce a new feature called PS3 Greatest Hits which will offer the best titles created for the platform at a reduced price of $29.99. Only ten titles will make it to the service first, but more are expected to be added regularly. These are: Warhawk, Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3, Need for Speed: Carbon, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and Assassin's Creed.
