Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is getting ready for the release of a new software update for the owners of Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, and Xperia Z Ultra devices out there, and has already received the necessary approvals for it.

Said update has been spotted on the PTCRB website with build number 14.4.A.0.133, which suggests that it might not include major updates, as XperiaBlog notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the previously available software update for these devices came in the form of build number 14.4.A.0.118 (which was made available for a small number of handsets), or 14.4.A.0.108 (which enjoyed global availability).

Most probably, Sony has included a series of small improvements in the new update, or various security fixes. However, an official changelog for the update hasn’t been revealed as of now.

No info on when the deployment of this update might start has been offered either. However, should the update be ready for deployment, we might see it arriving on devices in a matter of days, as it usually happens.

Hopefully, some more info on the matter will emerge sooner rather than later, so keep an eye on this space for updates.
