Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone running under Google’s Android operating system in the not too distant future.

It seems that the handset vendor might also attach an affordable price tag to it.

The handset has been spotted online with model number C1904 / C1905 attached to it, and is expected to run under Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system right from the start.

However, it seems that the new mobile phone might not include support for LTE connectivity, though it would still be able to connect to W-CDMA/GSM networks, Blog of Mobile reports.

Overall, the device should be an entry-level Xperia smartphone, though specific details on it are not available. Apparently, the Sony C1904 might land on shelves in North America, while the C1905 should be released internationally.
