Sony is preparing to debut a new type of PlayStation 3 Super Slim model as the company has just filed a new document in South Korea referring to codenames like CECH-4205B and CECH-4205C, which seem to be based on the Super Slim's designation, CECH-4000.

Sony is getting ready to debut the PlayStation 4 at the end of the year but it seems that the company also has plans for its PlayStation 3, as Kotaku reports that a new version, with a smaller architecture, less power consumption, and better cooling is set to be revealed soon.

The website bases this claims on certification documents forwarded by Sony in South Korea for two new versions of the PS3 (CECH-4205B and CECH-4205C).

Apparently the company already made similar actions in its native Japan, where model CECH-4200 was filed.

Considering it bases the designation on the current PS3 Super Slim (CECH-4000) it's quite possible that the new version won't change the exterior design.
