Sony's currently launching PlayStation Now, its cloud-based streaming service, in the United States of America onto platforms like the PS3, PS4, or even Bravia TV sets and it seems that plans for an European rollout might be announced at Gamescom 2014 this August.

Sony impressed lots of fans when it confirmed PlayStation Now at the beginning of the year, as the technology promises to stream at first only PS3 games via the cloud to all sorts of receiving platforms, such as the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, TV sets, tablets, or smartphones.

As of right now, the service is in closed beta in the U.S. on the PS3 and PS4, and will debut soon on select Bravia TVs.

Sony has so far been quiet on the service's launch in Europe, but the company's regional boss, Jim Ryan, has told GameReactor that there might be an announcement coming at Gamescom 2014 this August.

"We are working on the introduction in Europe. It's a little difficult, Europe is fragmented," he said. "You and I have a conversation several times a year, I suggest that if you come to Gamescom we might possibly, possibly have something to say about PlayStation Now. All I'm going to say is that we're going to have a great press conference this year."

Gamescom 2014 is set to be the biggest European gaming event of the year and debuts in the middle of August in Koln, Germany.
