Andrew House, the chief executive officer of Sony Computer Entertainment, says that the DualShock 4 controller and the interface that his company has created are appealing and informative for both hardcore gamers and newcomers.

DualShockers is quoting the executive as saying that, “We feel that we have developed a controller interface that is equal accessible to the hardest of hardcore gamers who will get the fullest benefits out of their gaming experiences.”

He adds, “but when used in combination with the camera or using the touch pad, is very, very easily accessible even to the person that is playing games for the first time.”

House is probably trying to explain that the PlayStation 4 can offer the same kind of precision and broad spectrum of control options that the Xbox One delivers when the Kinect motion tracking system is active.

Both Sony and Microsoft have created fast, complex but easy to understand interfaces for their next-gen consoles in an effort to allow users to move quickly from video games to entertainment content and to social interactions.

Andrew House also says that the PlayStation 4 is a very good offer for gamers because it is sold for the relatively low price of 399 dollars and has a solid line-up of titles already available.

The console is at the moment available in North America, although actual devices are still difficult to find in stores for those who have not pre-ordered.

It will be also officially out in Europe tomorrow, Friday, November 29.

Sony has already launched two updates for the firmware of the PlayStation 4, adding some new features and eliminating a small number of issues.

The failure rate for the device is estimated at under 1 percent and the company has pledged to quickly replace all devices that have been damaged in transit to stores.
