More than 30 million titles for it have also been delivered to customers

Hardware maker Sony announces that the PlayStation 4 has managed to sell more than 10 million units all over world since it was launched in November of last year and that it is the highest selling piece of hardware at the moment.

The official announcement states, "On behalf of our entire team, I want to thank you for your support and passion. You’re the reason that PS4 is the #1 next generation console in the world and we’re grateful for your continued enthusiasm and for always pushing us to new heights."

Sony also reassures gamers that they will get a number of high-profile titles in the fall and early in 2015, including Destiny, DriveClub, Grand Theft Auto V, InFamous First Light, Little Big Planet 3, and NBA 2K15.

A 2.0 version of the PlayStation 4 firmware will also be launched during autumn and will introduce a variety of new features, the most important of them being a new Share Play concept that allows gamers to invite a friend into their game even if they do not own a copy of it.

Microsoft did not share any sales details about its own Xbox One, which is rumored to have sold a little over 6 million units since it was launched.
