14 DAY TRIAL // Sony Online Entertainment has surprised a number of gamers by announcing that two of its most high-profile MMOs, Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online, will be launched on the new PlayStation 4 home consoles.
The team says that both are well suited to the new hardware and that players have been requesting to get access to their MMO on the new Sony platform.
Laura Naviaux, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Sony Online Entertainment, states, “Players have been asking for PlanetSide 2 to be playable on consoles, and PS4 is the ideal platform to showcase the game’s beauty, depth and frenetic open world combat.”
Both titles will keep their free-to-play structure on the PlayStation 4.
Sony Online Entertainment has not said whether it will offer cross-platform play for the two MMOs.
