Just now, Sony has announced the availability of its latest firmware package targeted at the PlayStation 4 gaming console, namely version 1.75, which adds 3D Blu-ray support and improves some other features.

Specifically speaking, the new update raises the audio quality of the Blu-ray and DVD videos during 1.5x playback, and changes the position of the system messages from the top-right corner (where they were displayed with the previous firmware) to the screen’s top-left corner.

Besides 3D Blu-ray support, version 1.75 also adds a new “Featured Content” option to the Settings → System → Automatic Downloads and Uploads. This addition automatically downloads featured content from the PlayStation Store if the console is powered on.

However, if you wish your PS4 to perform this action while in standby mode, just go to Settings → Power Save Settings → Set Functions Available in Standby Mode, and make sure that the “Connect to the Internet” option is turned on.

As for applying this new release, the installation procedure is the same as for the previous Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 1.74 – simply create a “PS4/UPDATE” path onto a formatted USB drive, and save the downloadable “PS4UPDATE.PUP” file there.

Afterwards, connect the memory drive to the console’s USB port while it is turned off, touch and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds so that the PS4 enters safe mode, and initiate the installation from the “Update System Software” section.

That being said, download Firmware 1.75 for Sony PlayStation 4, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply the latest version on your console, and enjoy the new benefits that this release brings about.
