Earlier this week, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile has officially announced the availability of a new smartphone in its popular Xperia lineup, namely the Xperia Z1 Compact, and also confirmed that it would become available for purchase starting with the next month.

In fact, the device has already started to emerge at various retailers in Europe, priced at different points, and it has also been spotted on the company’s official web store in the UK.

Apparently, the mobile phone maker has in plan a series of promotions meant to kick off the sales of this smartphone, and those who pre-order the device will enjoy them.

In the UK, the company will offer a free Smartwatch 2 to those who will reserve the Xperia Z1 Compact, while users in other markets will be able to a Sony Wireless Headset DR-BTN200M at only €1 with the purchase of the smartphone.

At the same time, users in France who will reserve the smartphone will receive a refund of €50 ($68), it seems. All in all, these appear to be highly appealing promotions for a device that is already considered great by many.

At the moment, Sony Mobile has kicked off such promotions in countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. As XperiaBlog notes, the company isn’t offering a similar deal to users in the Netherlands.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the new Xperia Z1 Compact will arrive on the market with the same high-end specs as the Xperia Z1 did before it, but in a smaller, compact design.

The handset sports a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor inside, and 2GB of RAM. Moreover, it features 16GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

The same as the Xperia Z1, the mobile phone comes with a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, as well as with a front camera for making video calls. It runs under Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
