It's finally happening. OK, but how about some more details on the upcoming, lighter PSP?

So it looks like we're finally witnessing a price drop for the PSP after all. For the last month or so, Sony's PSP has seen all the typical rumors for a gaming console: - price drop (simply); - retailers saying "or else" if Sony didn't consider a price drop; - new PSP model (improved everything and lighter); - again, price drop for the Value Pack (like the GameStop ad said);

I'm sure there are more but nothing comes to mind at the moment. See how the whole world revolves around money? We're pathetic...! Anyway, with all this pressure from everyone connected to the handheld, in one way or another, it was only a matter of time before Sony made a move. And here it is. According to Kotaku, Sony's PlayStation Portable system (the Core Pack that is) will see a price drop of about 30$, from $199 to $169, tomorrow.

Good news right? Great news some may say even and myself included. I was really looking forward to get my own and now that Sony's considering to cut the charge on their handheld, I just might do that. However, there's no word on Sony's behalf in regards to the PSP2, or PSPi or whatever they decide to call it. They just said there would be major improvements occurring with the system, that it would be lighter, yet the screen wouldn't be touched, as everyone sees this as the PSP's most valuable asset.

Sony will make the official PSP price drop announcement two days from now. Maybe it is Tuesday that we'll here some more details about the new PSP too.
