Just now, Sony made available a new firmware package targeted at its PlayStation 4 gaming console, namely version 1.61, which adds some system stability improvements while using several of the console’s features.

If you consider applying this latest version, then get the downloadable file, grab a USB storage device, create a “PS4/UPDATE” folder route on it, copy the firmware file into the “UPDATE” folder, make sure the PS4 is turned off, and insert the flash drive into the console’s USB port.

Now press and hold the power button for at least five seconds in order for the device to enter safe mode, select the “Update System Software” option, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete installation.

A problem could appear if the folders aren’t correctly created on the USB stick; if this issue is encountered, check again and, if necessary, rename the folder exactly as described above.

That being said, download Firmware 1.61 for Sony PlayStation 4, take into account the above-mentioned aspects, get that USB drive, and update your console to the latest firmware version.
