After delaying the release by a few days, Sony has just unveiled firmware version 2.0 developed for its F5 and F55 4K digital cameras, and, along with this release, the R5 recorder has also been updated to the same version.

The available packages include a large number of changes, new features, and functional improvements which increase the compatible devices’ overall performance and stability.

If updated, the cameras will benefit from features such as high frame rate (HFR) recording, 24p system frequency, and additional information on sub display. Moreover, the cameras now have a focus assist indicator, a user box marker, and a flicker reduce function.

The new version includes support for XAVC HD and 2KRAW simultaneous recording (on 120FPS), LA-FZB1/FZB2 mount adapter, FUJINON Cabrio lenses, as well as Sony SCL-Z18x140 zoom lenses.

Moreover, the XQD memory cards, the Review function on SxS, the Chinese display feature, and simultaneous SDI outputs are also supported by this release.

Furthermore, after applying this latest package, the default settings for SDI output format, for Lens Interface, and for recording media on CineEI mode, are now changed.
