Sony has announced the availability of a new firmware package targeted at its portable PlayStation Vita console, namely version 3.18, which improves only the overall system software stability while using certain features.

If you intend to apply this latest release on your device, you can do that by either using any available wireless network, connecting the console to a computer or PlayStation 3 system, or using a compatible memory card on which you have copied the new firmware.

To be more specific, if you are about to use a Wi-Fi network, simply go to Settings → Start → System Update → Update Using Wi-Fi, and the PS Vita will automatically search for an update. When and if a new version is found, the console will initiate the upgrade process and guide you through the installation.

If the second method is desired, the console will use the internet connection that is already present on the computer or PS3 system. The path is similar, namely Settings → Start → System Update → Update by Connecting to a PS3 System (or Update by Connecting to a PC).

As for the last upgrade procedure, you must save the downloadable .PUP file onto an empty memory card, insert it into the PS Vita console while it’s turned off, power on the unit, and the device will automatically recognize the new software and start the installation.

That being said, download Sony PlayStation Vita Firmware 3.18, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your portable console to the latest software version. Also, constantly check with our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
