It looks like Sony is ready to provide the world with its autumn product portfolio, as the company is expected to announce two new laptops and has just introduced a new VAIO all-in-one system that will provide users with a PC and TV in a single unit. The new VAIO L Touch HD PC/TV has been designed to enable users to easily access the capabilities of their PC, HDTV, DVR from a single, touch-enabled unit. The all-in-one system has been equipped with a larger 24-inch display, offering support for a high-quality visual experience.

“The L Series is the ultimate multi-media hub – it’s your PC, HDTV and DVR in one compact, stylish device,” said Mike Abary, senior vice president of the VAIO business group at Sony. “And with cutting-edge features such as multi-touch, it’s ideal for media lovers who appreciate HD performance and cutting-edge technology.”

Inside Sony's new VAIO L-series, users will be able to take advantage of a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM (support for up 12GB) and a high-capacity 1TB storage solution. In addition, the system offers a choice for an NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 1GB graphics chip, or the GeForce G210M 512MB GPU, powering the 24-inch, 1920 x 1080 display. The unit also sports Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and WiFi b/g/n wireless connectivity, an optional HDMI input for using the L series as a standalone display, and a face-tracking webcam.

Additional features include a VESA mount on the back of the 24-inch display, as well as Sony's own Media Gallery DVR application, which will go hand in hand with Windows 7's multitouch capabilities. As far as pricing is concerned, the Sony VAIO L Touch HD PC/TV Series is available for preorder now, priced at US$1,299.99, which will also get you a wireless keyboard, mouse and IR remote.
