We reported a few days ago that some Xperia J owners had started to receive the highly-anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, though no confirmation arrived from Sony at that time.

Today, the Japanese company announces on its blog site that it has kicked off Android 4.1 Jelly Bean rollout for Sony Xperia J.

According to Sony, the update will be available for download OTA (over the air) for some users, or via PC Companion, depending on markets.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Xperia J brings new features such Quick Settings – allowing for easier access to customization options, Sony Select – featuring the company’s weekly pics of popular apps, games and music.

As expected, Sony also confirmes that availability and rollout timing to Jelly Bean update will vary by market and customer variants.
