There have been quite a few rumors lately about the upcoming Sony NEX-7 successor and it seems that this new model will also replace the current NEX-6 interchangeable lens camera.

According to SonyAlphaRumors, the Nippon electronics maker will announce the new APS-C E-mount flagship camera in early February, but it's not clear if this will be before or during the CP+ show in Yokohama, Japan.

The new flagship model comes with a better imaging sensor, faster autofocus, EVF (electronic viewfinder), and improved image quality. Moreover, the NEX-6/7 successor is rumored to hit market shelves in April at a price of €800 / $1,100, significantly higher than the recently announced A5000 model, which is currently priced at 499€ / $680 in Europe and $600 / €440 in the US.

A previous patent has revealed that Sony will also announce this year new E-mount cameras equipped with full frame sensors that will be smaller and cheaper than the current A7 / A7R models.
