How low can you go?

The problem with Sony is that they DIDN'T create Halo 3, so the least they can do is alter the game's description on its Wikipedia page. We're not talking about rumors here, as Sony's editing has been confirmed by the Wikiscanner, some tool that traces the IP of the people who toy with Wikipedia pages.

It turns out that the IP was traced all the way to the UK Sony Studios and the edited description is not flattering at all for a blockbuster like Halo 3. Sony's dirty work goes something like this: "Halo 3, the third game in the best-selling Xbox game franchise Halo, is a highly anticipated first-person shooter video game under development by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 and is expected to "set a new high water mark" for next-generation games, although it wont look any better than Halo 2. "

I bet that we'll soon see a couple of official apologies and that a certain frustrated employee will be fired for mocking the competition. The Xbox 360 versus PS3 duel has turned into a guerrilla war now, mostly because Microsoft's console will surely sell better now that Halo 3 is out, while the Playstation 3 still has mediocre sales. Will we see the guys from Bungie Studios editing the Wikipedia page for God of War? I don't think they can go that low and probably they don't have the time to do this, since the launch of Halo 3 will surely generate a couple of official events that they must attend.

The console wars have a totally new meaning in the era of next-gen devices and everything's allowed in such a duel. I bet that Sony feels really frustrated by the fact that there never will be a PS3 port of Halo 3.What's next? Editing the sales number on Wikipedia for the Nintendo Wii console?
