One of the changes that Sony Mobile is making to its Xperia devices starting with the newly announced flagship Xperia Z smartphone involves the replacement of the Timescape app with a new one, called Socialife.

Deeply integrated in the Android platform, the application resembles the old Timescape, but features a different format, with the image of a post showed on the right side of the screen, and with the text on the left.

Socialife has already been spotted on the company’s tablet PCs, and it seems that Sony considered it fit for the smaller screens of smartphones as well, as XperiaBlog has learned.

Users purchasing the new Android-based device from the company will see the app being divided into three sections, namely My Stream (with Facebook and Twitter activity updates), Discovery mode (popular articles based on user’s preferences) and Favorites.
