Sony has just announced that the Trophy level cap for PlayStation 3 owners has been raised, so dedicated gamers can finally progress past level 50.

Sony introduced trophies in its games as an answer to the extremely popular achievements on Microsoft's Xbox 360 console and they were quickly picked up by many loyal PS3 owners, who wanted even more rewards for their gaming skills.

Their progress was tracked and, depending on the amount of trophies and their type, ranging from Bronze to Silver, Gold or Platinum, players progressed through ranks, up to level 50.

It now seems that quite a few people reached this cap, as Sony, via IGN, has announced that the limit has been lifted, so players can progress even more and showcase their virtual skills.

Has the PlayStation 3 Trophy cap affected you up until now or were you, like us, completely unaware that it even existed? Feel free to share your opinions below.
