The company is preparing for an eccentric release

Apparently, Sony's new "way" is going to be an eccentric way. The company is developing a new class of Walkman music player that could be released very soon, claims one Belgian site and the fellows from Pocket-lint.

Sony's new "baby" is being nicknamed the "Rolly", and it would be designed for people that got tired of the conventional iPods and mp3 player from the market. Therefore, this player is going to feature an easily-gripped egg shape, a built-in speaker, and a "revolutionary" system that relates to changing lights or music depending on the movement.

As for the egg-shape, I hope it's going to be something totally different from the already kitsch versions of mp3 players, such as EMP-ZII developed by EraTech or the Hipper 100 from MobiNote.

The only revolutionary detail about it seems to be the "choreographies" the Walkman is going to carry with it, though I bet there are a couple Korean companies that have already thought about that, too.

Sony is known to be presenting new mp3 devices at Berlin's IFA expo by the end of the month and who knows, they might actually include the final version of the Rolly, which would be ready for sale by the holidays. So, it's not too late to ask Santa to bring you one of these eggs.

For some reasons, Sony has largely updated its Walkman line in Europe and abroad, with the most recent release being the B100 drag-and-drop jukebox, which is great, given the fact that these guys have made some important changes in the industry.

However, there is no word regarding pricing and availability, since it is too early to talk about that. We're all eyes on that, that's for sure! Why? Because we want to see who will come first, the iPod or Sony's Egg?
