The Excellence range incorporates the fast and easy to use pre-installed Virtual Expander compression software and provides storage capacities ranging from 512 MB to 4GB. The Sony MICRO VAULT Midi range delivers up to 4GB of storage capacity and is capable of holding over 1,000 MP3 songs or high definition images and over nine hours of MPEG4 video footage. Moreover, it features Virtual Expander software that automatically compresses and decompresses the read and wrote information stored on the device and allows compressed documents to be sent by email. Virtual Expander comes pre-installed and, more precisely, enables the new models to hold up to three times the native volume of data.
The Midi device comes in a classic black and silver design, while the Excellence range is available in a gold theme, marking its leading status within MICRO VAULT series.
The Midi and Excellence ranges will be available from June 2006. The prices haven't been revealed.
