Sony Mobile has a new Android-based smartphone set to hit shelves all around the world, namely the Xperia neo L.

Initially made available for users in China, the new device is now listed on Sony’s website as a global device, yet no specific info on its market availability has been provided.

All that Sony notes on its website is that the smartphone is coming soon and that it will be released in two different color flavors, namely Black and White.

Featuring model number MT25i, the Xperia neo L appears set to arrive in various countries around the world with the same features and capabilities as its Chinese counterpart.

Thus, users will benefit from a large 4-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 854 pixels resolution, which is complemented by a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording, as well as a secondary camera on the front for making video calls.

The phone reminds us of the previously-launched Xperia neo and neo V, both of which arrived on shelves as mid-range devices. However, neo L does feature a series of design changes aimed at making it more appealing than its predecessors.

“The Xperia neo L MT25i boasts a large 4″ FWVGA display. This Android smartphone also has a 5 megapixel camera which records 720p HD video and a front facing camera for video chats,” Sony Mobile notes on its website.

“With its curved back and glossy finish, Xperia neo L MT25i is a smartphone that oozes elegance. And for crisp and loud sound, it also incorporates Sony’s xLoud audio technology.”

The handset is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and offers support for applications and games available through the Google Play Store.

It also features great audio capabilities, complemented by enhanced video playback and improved connectivity capabilities for a great experience while on the go.

“HD videos, crystal clear sounds – enjoy entertainment anytime, anywhere. And in addition, the 1GHz processor gives you short response times and great web browsing speed,” Sony notes.
