Unveiled last week at Consumer Electronics Show 2013 (CES), Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL have just been confirmed to arrive in South East Asia in Q1. Some countries in the region will get both smartphones, while others will only receive the Xperia Z.

According to XperiaBlog, Sony will make the Xperia Z (Black, White and Purple) and Xperia ZL (Black and White) available in Indonesia.

In Philippines and Singapore, Sony Mobile will launch the Xperia Z (Black, White and Purple) and Xperia ZL (Black and White) as well, whereas customers in Malaysia will only be able to purchase the Xperia Z (Black, White and Purple).

Last but not least, the Japanese company announced the Xperia Z (Black, White and Purple) and Xperia ZL (Black) will be available for purchase in Vietnam in Q1 2013.

No word on the pricing option, but the contents of the sales package will be the same for all models: Sony MH-EX300AP headset, standard charger, microUSB cable for synchronization and file transfer, as well as user documentation.

Aside from the obvious design differences between the two smartphones, Sony Xperia ZL is not water and dust resistant, while the Xperia Z comes with IP57 certification (water proof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes).

Both Xperia phones will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system onboard, though Sony already confirmed the handsets would receive an Android 4.2 upgrade soon after launch.

It is also worth mentioning that each smartphone is equipped with 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 320 graphics processing unit 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

They also boast 5.0-inch Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 displays that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, 13-megapixel rear cameras with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
