Video game hardware developer and publisher Sony launched the new Video Unlimited powered preview application on the PlayStation Network, although just those who have a PS Plus subscription are able to access it at the moment.

Those who have regular accounts and do not pay for access will be able to also use it starting on October 11.

Sony says that the new Video Unlimited preview is designed to allow those who are big consumers of video content on the PlayStation 3 home console to navigate and discover items in a more intuitive manner.

They can search for TV shows and movies using such parameters as specific actors, genre and director.

The move is part of Sony's wider program of making its easier to access content other than video games on PS3.

The company also tries to integrate its significant media entertainment properties into the PSN in order to attract more of an audience to its console.
