They should be available for sale starting this summer

Looks like Sony isn't jumping off the Google TV ship, having released not just a media player with support for it, but also a Blu-ray player.

The Media Player is called NSZ-GS7 while the Blu-ray unit bears the name of NSZ-GP9.

Both of them connect to HDTVs via HDMI and can either relay TV broadcasts or let users browse the Internet and download/start apps.

What's more, Sony invented a new remote control that relies on a touch pad and even has a full keyboard on the back, complete with backlighting.

That way, owners will be able to do anything the technology allows for from afar, even in the dark.

Sony will start selling the Google TV-enabled products, in Europe and North America, sometime during summer. No prices yet, though.

“We were the industry’s first to launch ‘Google TV’ platform products in 2010. By leveraging our Sony Internet TV know-how, we will offer new products with enhanced user experiences to more customers,” says Masashi Imamura, senior vice president, corporate executive, and president of Home Entertainment Business Group, Sony Corporation.
