There’s been a lot of talk on the upcoming Sony LT29i Hayabusa, which indicates that the Japanese company plans to release the device soon. Although the phone was initially slated for a July release, the latest hearsay points to an earlier June launch.

Unlike other Xperia NXT smartphones that have already been confirmed, Sony LT29i Hayabusa does not come with Gingerbread on board, instead the device is said to run the latest version Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The smartphone leaked about five months ago along with Sony’s entire Android roadmap for Q2 and Q3 2012. Some of the devices listed have already made it to shelves, while others have yet to be officially announced.

Although we already know some of the LT29i Hayabusa’s specs, we didn’t have the chance to see the phone caught on camera. Chinese site it168 had the chance to picture a document showing the Sony LT29i Hayabusa and leaked it online.

Even though the picture is a bit hazy, we can see that Sony decided to go with a curvaceous form factor for this device.

There’s a high chance that the smartphone will be available in at least two color options, black and white, but additional color-schemes may be announced as well.

From what has been leaked until now, we know that Sony LT29i Hayabusa is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, probably clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Still, Sony may have some issues with the phone’s hardware as Qualcomm is reportedly unable to produce so many Snapdragon S4 chipsets in such a short time.

Asus and Pantech have already announced they have been affected by this Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 shortage and were forced to delay some of their products.

Anyway, Sony LT29i Hayabusa’s main selling point will be the impressive 13-megapixel Exmor camera with “HDR Video” function and full HD (1080p) video recording. In addition, the smartphone is said to boast a 4.55-inch HD capacitive touchscreen display and a high-capacity 2200 mAh Li-Ion battery.
