The PlayStation Vita is rapidly approaching its late February release date and Sony has now revealed two special deals it will be running at that time. These focus on the 3G version of the handheld console by offering free accessories, like memory cards, as well as a free game and free AT&T mobile internet access.

The PlayStation Vita is getting ready for its debut in North America and Europe next month so, in order to avoid the low sales experienced by the console in Japan, Sony has decided to offer some more incentives to potential customers.

First up, the company has confirmed that extra goodies will be offered to those who got the PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle with a 3G+WiFi model.

Besides their guaranteed accessories, like the limited case, a 4GB memory card or the Little Deviants game, those who pre-ordered will get an AT&T DataConnect Pass that’s good for one free 250MB session of mobile internet, not to mention a free game from the PlayStation Network.

Those who didn’t get a chance to pre-order the First Edition PS Vita, can take advantage of another bundle from Sony, which includes a 3G+WiFi console, as well as quite a few other things, like the aforementioned AT&T DataConnect Pass, an 8GB memory card, as well as a PSN game, all for the regular $299 (€299) price of the 3G Vita.

As further proof that these bundles are designed to get people more interested in the PlayStation Vita’s 3G model, Sony has even highlighted some of the things customers could do with such a version of the portable console.

“While the system is a fantastic option, the addition of 3G-network access is perfect for the gamer that wants convenience, community and connection – basically the ability to immediately socialize with your gaming community,” Sony said.

“3G also allows you to engage in multiplayer gaming, utilize GPS location-based digital gifting, stay up to date with continuous LiveArea scores and game ranking news feeds, compete for in-game achievements, engage in PS Vita to PS3 cross-platform game play, cross-game message with Party, and have access to software updates, all while on the go. You’ll also be able to login to the PS Store and download new content and add-ons for some of your favorite titles.”

The PlayStation Vita is out in North America and Europe on February 22. No word yet, however, on whether these bundles will apply to countries outside the US.
