We reported yesterday firmware version 10.4.B.0.569, which is the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, for Xperia Z, Xperia ZR and Xperia ZL has been recently certified at PTCRB.

This means the launch of the highly-anticipated update is not too far away and those who own one or more of these Xperia devices should start checking for the upgrade.

Well, it looks like Sony approves our speculation, as the Japanese company recently posted on Xperia Z's support page details on the upcoming Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

The folks over at XperiaBlog report Sony quickly pulled the information, though we've managed to obtain a screenshot of the information published by the handset maker.

According to these inadvertently released details, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean should arrive on Sony Xperia Z on December 19. Given the fact that this will be rolled out in stages, it might take a few weeks until the update reaches all Xperia Z units.

The upcoming firmware version for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is 10.4.B.0.569, which coincides with the one certified yesterday.

This means that the other two smartphones that got the same build at PTCRB, Xperia ZL and Xperia ZR might receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update around the same timeframe.

Sony also confirmed the update will be pushed OTA (over the air) and recommends Xperia Z owners to use a Wi-Fi connection to avoid data traffic.

In order to manually check for Android 4.3 upgrade head over to Settings / About phone / Software updates / System updates and hope for the best.

It's unclear whether or not Sony pulled the information from the support site in order to delay the update or it was a simple mistake. Anyway, Xperia Z owners should keep an eye out for a major update this weekend. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
