Japanese handset vendor Sony Mobile has been rumored for quite some time now to be planning the launch of a new flagship Android device in the not too distant future, namely the Sony Honami, and it seems that a mini flavor of the handset is also in the works.

The so-called Sony Honami Mini has emerged online before, and has made another appearance over the weekend, featuring the codename of Ray 3, GSMInsider reports.

Apparently, the new mobile phone will come to the market with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside, and with a 20-megapixel photo snapper on the back, the same as its larger counterpart, the Sony Honami.

In fact, it should hit shelves only as a smaller flavor of the 5-inch handset, which is expected to become official on September 4 at IFA 2013 in Berlin.
