Sony HX60, HX400, WX220, and WX350 Cameras Receive Firmware 2.00
The new version allows users to take remote movie shooting using a smartphone or a tablet
Just after releasing Firmware 2.00 for Sony DSC-RX10 Camera, the producer has rolled out the same software version compatible with its DSC-HX60, DSC-HX60V, DSC-HX400, DSC-400V, DSC-WX,220 and DSC-WX350 Cyber-Shot digital cameras.Unlike the RX10 firmware 2.00, this version improves the device’s general functions and overall stability, and allows users to shoot movies remotely using a proper smartphone or tablet.
In terms of compatibility the “Smart Remote Control” build-in application that the “remote control” has pre-installed can only take still images.
In order to fully use the remote movie shooting, it is required that you download and install the app’s 3.01 version. However, “Smart Remote Control 3.01” is part of the “PlayMemories Camera Apps” that is to be released somewhere around the end of September 2014.
Still, if you intend to apply this release, first make sure that your system is running one of the suitable OSes (Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1), and only afterwards download the appropriate executable for your camera model.
Now, simply close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, change the computer settings so that it doesn’t enter any sleep state (the update takes about 15 minutes to complete), run the executable, and follow the onscreen instructions for a complete installtion.
That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Cyber-Shot digital camera, and update your camera to the latest firmware version by following the aforementioned steps.
