Sony: "Everything that We Put on Store Shelves Sold Out"...NOT!

Remember just a few days ago when I reported that PS3s were just sitting on store shelves and nobody was buying them. This was not something made up by me, but a true story as confirmed by a Kotaku reporter who went to a major retailer and did some snapshots of the PS3 stack.

Sony's David Karraker commented on this
issue and said that every Sony product sells out: "Everything that we put on store shelves sold out". This photo by Brian Crecente started a lot of issues, with ABC news, 1up.com and Jupiter Research getting involved. Here, judge for yourself:

"Rumors and speculation surround every console launch," explained Michael Gartenberg, vice president and research director at Jupiter Research. "Someday Oliver Stone is going to do a movie about the launch of a video game console and all the cabals and clandestine groups keeping them out of stores." ... "At this particular point in time there aren't enough PS3s to go around," he said. "The question is what happens when supply catches up to demand. Will consumers still want it?" ... But Gartenberg, who believes the PS3 is off to a great start, said the market may be big enough that there doesn't need to be a winner."

Maaan, just leave it alone! It's just a frigin' console. It's supposed to make you feel good. It's supposed to be entertaining...stop fighting!
