Sony Ericsson seems determined to expand its XPERIA mobile phone series as much as possible, and the company is now reported to plan the launch of no more than three new devices that will fit into the family. The upcoming phones, namely the XPERIA X2, X3 and X5, have been announced for a really near launch, which would be in line with the already rumored official launch that Sony Ericsson has prepared for Friday, July 17.

Not only that the XPERIA family will soon add new members, but it seems that it will also be expanded to more operating systems than Microsoft's Windows Mobile that came along with the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1. Thus, the upcoming X2 should sport the same platform as the predecessor, yet the X5, supposedly the newly unveiled Rachael, should come to the market with Android.

As anyone can easily see, there is no X4 in the lineup, at least not for now, though the upcoming X3 should be a rather interesting device, as it is reported to be none other than the also recently spotted Sony Ericsson Kiki, which will come to the shelves with a transparent display. Unfortunately, there are not too many other details on what this device should feature, yet, in case the company is indeed set to announce the handsets as soon as rumored, it won't be long before more info on it will surface.

The announcement about the near launch has been made via Twitter, UnwiredView reports, and no exact details on what the company has in store for us have been unveiled, yet we're pretty sure that the hopes of a lot of enthusiasts out there are high already. Not only that the Rachael seems to be one of the most attractive Android handsets on the market, considering the interface it is expected to come with, but Kiki might also become a popular phone, for its design seems rather mysterious, with no visible buttons on the face cover. Stay tuned to learn what Sony Ericsson plans to deliver to its users in the near future.
