Sony Ericsson's parade of new Models

Sony Ericsson, the group occupying the 5'th position in the cell phones manufacturers' top, has launched on Monday four new models, belonging to the low-entry and mid segments. The announcement was made the same day Nokia launched its 7 new models in Singapore, thus underlining once again the fierce competition in this ever-growing market.

The new models address
a large segment of customers, having very carefully designed features that fit different lifestyles. Thus, the target for the S600 model is the younger generation, S600 being a full fledged gaming console and miniature communications center, while the Z520 clamshell is a stylish but very useful accessory, targeting especially young women for which elegance is of outmost importance.

The other two models are J210, and entry-level model for those who want mainly simple functions like making calls and writing messages, and K608i, a new third-generation (3G) technology phone.

Sony Ericsson's product strategy, which up until now had focused on advanced, more expensive models, has set the objective of expanding its low-end range, in order to become a top-three player. And is quite clear that, as competition grows, we, the customers, will have the greatest benefits, since the prices are bound to drop and the quality to increase.
