Still unannounced officially for the time being, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone, also spotted into the wild as the PlayStation Phone, holds almost no secrets, as it emerged in various hands-on videos and photos before, and already got its first review, it seems.

The mobile phone made it to the headlines quite a few times during the past several months, and is expected to become official as soon as next month, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Following a long list of leaks and rumors on the handset's capabilities, complemented by extensive photo sessions and a series of videos with the device, we can also have a look at a new in-depth preview of the Xperia Play, said to be the very first review of the mobile phone.

Apparently, the guys over at ePrice managed to play around with the upcoming handset, and they confirm some of the phone's specs, while also offering us a glimpse at the manner in which the device operates.

According to them, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play should land on shelves with a 1GHz processor with the Adreno 205 GPU inside, just as previously rumored.

Moreover, the device would sport a 4-inch touchscreen display that would boast a 854 x 480 pixel (FWVGA) resolution, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The upcoming handset would also include noise cancelling dual microphones and two speakers, the news site reports.

Moreover, it seems that the mobile phone would sport left and right bumper buttons, in addition to the PlayStation controls that would slide from under the screen.

Other specs that were confirmed on the new device include the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, along with microSD memory card slot, microUSB, and a 3.5mm microphone jack.

Hopefully, Sony Ericsson would indeed plan launching the phone in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and more on its hardware capabilities would be unveiled at that time.

Until then, you can have a look at the two videos embedded below to learn more on the handset, or head over to ePrice (via TNW) for the entire gallery of photos.
