MTV Europe Music Awards got better, as Sony Ericsson has invested a great amount of time and resources for helping the music channel bring a new category in the competition. The New Sounds of Europe will enable emerging musical talents to make themselves known at a wide scale.

There are always some great bands that never break through and receive the global appreciation that they deserve. The partnership between Sony Ericsson and MTV will have results over 18 European markets and will best show its results in the New Sounds of Europe category.

As a result, a great number of bands will have their first shot at global appreciation for the music they make. MTV channels will select their best local artists and have their viewers nominate for the favorite one. This band will go on as to represent their country at MTV Europe Music Awards. Further voting will take place as to decide on the best of these finalists and what band truly deserves to play on stage in the evening of the awards.

"This year's MTV Europe Music Awards campaign activation represents a wholly customized solution that builds on Sony Ericsson's music strategy to position the brand at the forefront of new music, across platforms. We are vested in the success of our partnerships and committed to creating new concepts that help clients make breakthrough connections with our youth audiences like never before", said Melisa Qui?oy, executive vice president Europe at Viacom Brand Solutions International.

The partnership makes a great opportunity for Sony Ericsson too in order to better promote their new line of Walkman phones. It is only natural that the market for this type of phones highly resembles that of MTV Music Awards. For this reason, it turns out to be a profitable solution for both companies.
